This week let’s talk about - The Law of Reverse: Less is More

Mindset
…The Law of Reverse

The Navy SEALs are among the world's elite warriors, taught a crucial principle from the start: the Law of Reverse, which involves achieving goals by letting go.

In Navy SEAL training, there's an exercise called Drown Proofing. Instructors bind the trainees' hands and feet and throw them into a nine-foot-deep pool. The objective: survive for five minutes.

Many panic and must be rescued; tragically, some have even died. However, those who pass understand the secrets:

1. Effort Equals Failure: Struggling to keep your head above water makes you sink faster. With hands and feet tied, staying afloat for five minutes is impossible through effort alone.

2. Calm Equals Survival: Panicking burns more oxygen. The paradox is that the harder you try to stay alive, the less likely you are to survive.

The key to passing is to relax and allow yourself to sink. When you reach the bottom, push off lightly to surface for air, then sink back down and repeat. This method conserves energy and ensures survival.

The Law of Reverse: Less is More

This story perfectly encapsulates the Law of Reverse: more effort often results in less reward. It teaches us to be less concerned about failure or the outcome. By worrying less, you conserve energy, take risks, and reach your full potential.

Practical Application: Welcome the Worry

Simply telling you to worry less isn't helpful. So, here's a practical approach: make friends with worry.

Key Takeaway: Focus on Action, Not Outcome

Do what you need to do without fretting about the result. In the end, it’s a win-win: either you succeed or you learn.
